Save the Kiwi's sponsors

We get by with a lot of help from our friends.

Save the Kiwi couldn’t do what we do without the support of our whānau of sponsors and supporters.

We are proud to partner with iconic brands from Aotearoa and around the globe who recognise that saving the kiwi is everyone’s responsibility. Their generosity and commitment are vital to Save the Kiwi’s mission, and make a genuine impact on our kiwi mahi.

Sponsorship Showcase

Our sponsors are a vital part of our team and get involved in an array of kiwi-centred activities. We don’t have a one-size-fits-all partnership model; each and every activity our sponsors get involved in are as unique as the kiwi they support.

Gallagher Insurance

Gallagher Insurance has been part of our sponsorship whānau since 2019, when they become the naming sponsor for the Gallagher Kiwi Burrow, Save the Kiwi’s purpose-built kiwi incubation and hatching facility located near Taupō. Gallagher is also the principal sponsor of the Kiwi Art Trail, a public exhibition of bespoke kiwi sculptures that has run for two years. At the end of the trail, all sculptures are sold at auction to raise much-needed funds for kiwi conservation.

Millennium Hotels

Millennium Hotels & Resorts joined the team in 2021. Their support goes directly to the Save the Kiwi creche in Napier, where kiwi chicks stay for several months until they’re large enough to fend for themselves in the wild. Millennium also gives guests to their New Zealand hotel collective the opportunity to ‘feed and house’ kiwi at the creche. When guests opt out of daily servicing on multi-day stays, the equal cost is donated to Save the Kiwi on their behalf.

Enviro NZ

Enviro NZ have joined the sponsorship whānau to help with one of our biggest endeavours… translocating kiwi. Enviro NZ is one of the country’s leading environmental service providers, delivering waste management, recycling, and industrial cleaning solutions to councils, businesses, and communities nationwide.
The Enviro NZ Kiwi on the Move programme will help transfer kiwi from kōhanga sites to predator-controlled habitats across Aotearoa, boosting the kiwi populations where they have been absent for generations.

PKF

PKF New Zealand is an enthusiastic supporter of Save the Kiwi and kiwi conservation efforts. PKF has several offices around the country. In 2024 and 2025, staff from PKF Hamilton participated in the annual kiwi translocations at Maungatautari, an annual kaupapa run in partnership between Save the Kiwi, Ngāti Koroki Kahukura and Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari.

United Rentals

United Rental (formerly Royal Wolf) joined the team in 2022, and since then has been an enthusiastic contributor to Save the Kiwi. They have donated the use of a shipping container to the annual kiwi translocations at Maungatautari to help with storage, and for the 2023 Fieldays they donated a container that became Save the Kiwi’s exhibition venue. Staff have participated in tree planting days on Motutapu Island, and in 2025, Royal Wolf gifted the name “Wolfie” to a kiwi that hatched at the Gallagher Kiwi Burrow, and followed its journey to the Napier kiwi creche and then when it was released into the wild.

Whittaker’s

Whittaker’s has been a long-standing supporter of Save the Kiwi, most memorably with the production of their iconic Easter chocolate kiwi. Most recently, Whittaker’s has generously donated chocolatey treats to several kiwi conservation initiatives including treating National Kiwi Hui attendees and kiwi translocations volunteers.
